Our apps have been downloaded more than 28 million times since the companies inception. We’re working hard to build one of the strongest brands on the App Store and have a workload we can’t keep up with.
Description
Bluebear is looking for talented game programmers to join our engineering team in Dublin. As a key part of a small startup, you’ll be working closely with the rest of the team when it comes to developing our innovative casual games.
The perfect candidate will need:
A bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent ( M.Sc or Ph.d preferred )
Strong programming abilities in C/C++ or Objective C
Ability to write clean OOP code
An appreciation for quality workmanship
Cocos2d-X or Cocos2d-iPhone experience
Nice to have:
OpenGL, XNA
Box2D/Chipmunk
Python/Perl scripting ability
Linux/Unix skills
Git experience
Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
Other Qualities:
Display high standards, good attention to detail and a methodical work process.
You should have an ability to work effectively in a small team and independently under your own initiative.
Familiarity with the best apps on the App Store and an appreciation for beautiful UI.
Salary
The position is available on a full time basis. Salary will depend on the candidate/experience level.
Location
This role is based at The Digital Hub, Dublin 8, located 15 minutes walk from the city centre and minutes from LUAS and Heuston Stations. More info here.

Bluebear Technologies is seeking a Software Engineer with expertise in image processing, specifically the OpenCV computer vision library, to help build the next generation of its image manipulation software. The position is available initially on a fixed-term full time basis, with the possibility of a permanent role being available thereafter.
As a key part of a small startup, you will be working closely with the engineering team to help expand and improve on our range of photo manipulation apps. You’ll get to help research & devise the latest algorithms and be a key contributor to all aspects of product development. Examples of some of our successful image based apps: Graffiti Me! , Sketch Me!, Hair Color Booth, Geek Booth
The perfect candidate will need:
A bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent ( M.Sc or Ph.d preferred )
Strong abilities in C/C++
OpenCV / Image Processing experience (At the very least a dissertation/project with a strong image processing/OpenCV component)
Nice to have:
Objective C
Java
Knowledge of Cocos2D is a major plus
OpenGL, XNA
Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
Python/Perl scripting ability
